Trump Calls for Jimmy Kimmel to Be Fired Over Controversial Joke
According to reports, Trump reacted strongly on social media, criticizing the comedian’s performance and ratings while accusing him of broadcasting misleading content involving a staged or edited video featuring the First Family.
"Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, who is in no way funny as attested to by his terrible Television Ratings, made a statement on his Show that is really shocking," Trump wrote, claiming that a fake clip was shown during the program.
He then referenced the content of the segment, in which Kimmel made remarks about Melania Trump:
"Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow."
Trump also linked his criticism to a separate security-related incident involving a shooting at a White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, suggesting the suspect had been armed with multiple weapons and had malicious intent.
"He was there for a very obvious and sinister reason," Trump added.
Describing the joke as unacceptable, Trump said the comments crossed a serious line and escalated his criticism of the broadcaster.
He concluded with a direct call for action against the comedian:
"Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC."
“I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel’s despicable call to violence,” he added.
