Israeli Forces Raid Birzeit University, Arrest Palestinians
A military unit entered the university grounds with a bulldozer and tore down a memorial displaying the names of Birzeit University students who were killed in Israeli attacks over the years.
During the operation, the forces also detained a university security guard, searched several buildings and facilities, and maintained a military presence around the campus.
A photograph shared by Birzeit University showed the location where the memorial had previously stood.
Palestinian reports said Israeli forces had entered the university campus on Sept. 26 and photographed the memorial before leaving the area.
Birzeit University has 13,400 students enrolled across nine faculties offering 174 academic programs during the 2025-2026 academic year. The institution has faced repeated Israeli raids, with some previous operations resulting in arrests and injuries.
Separately, Israeli forces detained 12 Palestinians, including three children and two women, during raids conducted in Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, Ramallah and Al-Bireh.
The operations came as Israeli settlers also targeted Palestinian farmers and took parts of their olive harvests in the occupied West Bank.
